Welcome to Smooth Jiu Jitsu Southern Highlands, where martial arts meets community, passion, and technical excellence. Located in the heart of Moss Vale, our academy is led by Head Instructor Stephen Reeks, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Professor Felipe Grez, with over 16 years of Jiu Jitsu experience and more than 20 years across boxing, Muay Thai, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Stephen has competed professionally in Australia and brings his wealth of expertise to every class.

At Smooth Jiu Jitsu, we focus on providing world-class instruction in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) and Muay Thai. Our academy offers tailored programs for all ages and skill levels, from our little kids' classes (ages 5-7), kids’ classes (ages 8-13), to our adults’ programs. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced martial artist, our welcoming environment encourages growth, both on and off the mats.

Stephen’s teaching approach is built on technical precision, effective mechanics, and positive-based methods for better retention. He has over 20 years of experience as an instructor, helping students at every stage of their martial arts journey. At Smooth Jiu Jitsu, we don’t just teach techniques—we empower you to become the best version of yourself.

In addition to our regular classes, we host in-house competitions, seminars, and special events to bring the community together. We pride ourselves on being a supportive and inclusive tribe where everyone is welcome to train, improve, and challenge themselves.
